Time separates us from tragedy, and in that separation history is obscured. These dichotomous images explore how moments in history have brought us to the present moment. Fragmented narratives extracted from our memory beg to resolve the cyclical nature of historical oppression. The title, Is This How It Happened?, is just one of many questions at the foundation of structural racism.

This is the second installment to Is This How It Happened? The fragmented narrative continues to question the way the perception of history is distorted and how the residual pain is understood. Who Did It Happen To? (Part II) asks us to place an identity on the affected and place ourselves within that context.
